One Call...

We started off this week with a surprise show... One Call joined us on a Sunday night, which in the past usually meant a smaller show.  Well not this time!  They brought in the biggest crowd yet!  Although we were experiencing some technical difficulties, we did manage to bring in some awesome numbers! 170 callers and over 500 people listened LIVE!  They broke both of those records but have yet to break Daniel Cudmore's record of 27,000+ archive listeners!

One Call is a fairly new boyband who has gained an amazing fan base!  I have no doubt these boys are going to be taking over the world any minute now!  We'd like to the thank the boys of One Call for joining and invite them to come back soon!

Valentine's Day...

I finally took the plunge today and went to go see Valentine's Day.  As a self professed Valentine's Day "hater" naturally I thought this movie would be nothing less than... well... crap (for lack of a better word). So what was my official review of this movie?  Let me ask you a few questions... Did you like Love, Actually?  Does the star power in this movie entice you? Are you ok with predictable story line?  If you answered yes to this questions then stop reading this, head out and go see Valentine's Day!  I mean, right now.

You're probably thinking "wait, she sounds like a love cynic!" I promise you this is not the case!  I just don't see why we need to put pressure on all the guys out there to out do each other with gifts one day a year... I much prefer gifts for no reason when you just feel like giving someone you love a gift.  So there... See, I'm not a cynic!  And for the record I actually did like Love, Actually.  I thought it was a really good and original movie... The originality stops when someone decided to remake it as a Valentine's Movie.  Star Power... boy was there some star power in this movie!  So much so that its rumored they had to list the credits alphabetically so no one would get angry! The acting was pretty decent from those that you'd expect to be good.  Aston Kutcher = AMAZING, Julia Roberts was lovely as always, Bradley Cooper is always my favorite, Eric Dane and Patrick Dempsey (fellow Grey Anatomy cast mates) delivered as they do every week, and the list just keeps on going! So with all this star power you'd think they would step up the script a bit... ummm no apparently not!

Overall it was entertaining for 2 hours and gave everyone wondering what to do with their sweetie on Valentine's Day a romantic comedy to go see.  I was hoping it would be more but at least it kept my attention. With all of the good movies out right now, I say... wait and rent it.

Review:  3 out of 5 Stars...

For more information on Valentine's Day, head over to IMDB.

Broken Sons...

Well tonight tested my inner fan girl as one of my FAVORITE bands Broken Sons hit Artists on Demand airwaves! These guys are just as hilarious as their songs are amazing!  We also found out they will going into the studio in early March to make a new album with the same producer behind Alexisonfire and Dallas Green's City and Colour.  You know what just occurred to me?  A Dallas Green & Broken Sons collaboration... I don't think I could handle that! Go check them out online at Broken Sons Official Site and on Myspace.  Go check out Jay, Devon, Dan and Brad... You won't be disappointed!

Joe Manganiello...

Earlier this year True Blood's Allan Ball announced that Joe Manganiello would be taking the role of everyones favorite Season 3 Werewolf, Alcide.  Anyone who's read Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse novels know how awesome Alcide's character is!

Early today we heard that Joe landed another key role! In addition to his amazing role on True Blood Season 3 and Owen on One Tree Hill, Joe will be adding the brand new 30-mintute sitcom called "Livin' on a Prayer" to his resume.  According to CBS this sitcom is from the same people that brought us "How I Met Your Mother".  I think it sounds like a really good show!

From everyone here at Artists on Demand we'd like to congratulate Joe on his new role! We'll be seeing a lot of this fellow in the upcoming season!

If you absolutely can't wait for April, Glee Season One is in stores NOW!

Last November...

We had so much fun last night with Luke from Last November! He and Vicky spent most of the interview working on Luke's english accent, and I must say by the end of it he was almost a pro! We also got to hear 3 new songs from Last November's album "Tug O' War".... I have to say my favorite was "Firefly".  You all should head out and buy the EP on iTunes (you get a free video with your purchase!) Also head over to Last Novembers Official Site and Their Myspace!

Allan Hyde...

Allan Hyde joined us tonight in the Artists on Demand virtual studio and he was AMAZING!  We talked our favorite Godric moments and some that will be coming up!  The hour flew by as we took some fan calls, discussed in length jazz hands versus spirit fingers and talked about Allan's potential career as a Chef/Doily Maker as... I think he should stick to acting, just saying! Well tonight made me even more excited for True Blood Season 3.  Hopefully we'll talk to Allan again soon but until then check out the PODCAST!!

Life Unexpected...

Life Unexpected... We've all seen the promos and those who thought a Juno meets Gilmore Girls show was worth watching have now seen 4 episodes.  So the question is has Life Unexpected stepped up?  ABSOLUTELY! (Well according to me!)

If you are not familiar with the story line behind Life Unexpected you must live under a rock... But just in case here's what we know so far:

We have Lux (played by Brittany Robertson), a 15-year-old foster child who's been bounced around from home to home her entire life.  When she decides to apply for her own emancipation she tracks down her biological parents to get them to sign a form.  She loses and Lux is put back in her parents care...

Then we have Cate (played by Shiri Appleby), popular radio host (like me?? yeah not so much).  When Cate was in high school she gave birth to Lux.  Now she is trying to make up for the last 15 crappy years Lux has spent in foster care. So far she can do nothing right.

Baze (played by Kristoffer Polaha). Yeah thats his name! He's the other half of the dynamic duo of biological parents.  He owns a bar and could not take care of himself let alone a child.  I must say his character is very endearing.

Ryan (played by Kerr Smith).  Remember Jack from Dawson's Creek?  Oh yeah he's back! He plays the love interest of Cate.  Cate and Ryan have awesome on screen chemistry!

Bringing on the job of being Baze's Best Friends are Math & Jamie (played by Austin Basis and Reggie Austin).  These two are hilarious and keep Baze on track!

Now that you're caught up, what do we think about Life Unexpected?? The CW hit it right on the head this time!  Let's take a small look back to when The CW was better known as The WB (oh yeah, I went there!) This network was built and gained fans based on two main shows, 7th Heaven and Gilmore Girls.  Since then its been over run with the scandalous teenagers of 90210 and Gossip Girl, the drama ridden One Tree Hill, the vamp-tastic The Vampire Diaries & of course SuperNatural (Nikki would hurt me if I forgot this show!).  Don't get me wrong, I watch all the shows, but I have to say its refreshing to see another semi-wholesome show with a good message! I say "semi-wholesom" because, I mean really, it is based on teenage pregnancy! Although I don't think Life Unexpected is "Juno meets Girlmore Girls", I do think that Life Unexpected filled the gap left after Gilmore Girls went off the air.  Its an honest, heart warming and hilarious story.  So far there appears to be 11 Episodes for this season, I'm willing to guess its going to go on for a few seasons!

Samantha Marq...

One of my favorite guests so far!  Samantha Marq was super sweet and a great interviewee!  We had a lot fun tonight chatting about her upcoming musical projects and life in general!  I think she has the most unique release process of anyone i've ever heard of!  All her singles will come out as individual songs, one by one, each with its own multimedia attachments!  We are talking games, comics, pictures and other interactive extras.  It really is refreshing to see a young girl in this business with a great head on her shoulders! We had a few technical difficulties tonight, but once we got rolling the show was amazing! Thanks again to Samantha for joining us, and stay tuned! I'll keep you updated on new music and other fun things from Samantha! Here are all the websites you can check out Samantha on:

The Alumni...

The Alumni... These two a musical geniuses were as funny as they are talented! Who makes up this dynamic duo? (Not Batman & Robin) but Anthony Meyer and Christopher Aaron! They charmed their way through our questions leaving Adrienne and I giggling!  You can tell after 5 seconds of talking to them that they are great friends and work incredibly well together! Right now they are pushing their newest project which is Russian singing sensation George Hodos.  His new single "Just a Man" is set to hit the airwaves for our listening pleasure sometime this spring.  Can you believe these two worked with Snoop Dogg??  The Man, THE LEGEND!!  Well George Hodos' new song "Just a Man" features Snoop!

Meghan Markle...

The wonderful and amazing Meghan Markle made an appearance on Artists on Demand last night instantly captivating us with her sweet and kind personality.  She answered our questions like a pro, even making our famous Jelly Belly Bean question her own.  What would her flavor be?  According to Meghan it would taste like a black and white cookie.  Yum! You can see Meghan in the upcoming movie Remember Me along side Robert Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin.  Meghan said she liked filming in New York and could see herself living here! She also said Remember Me won't be what everyone expects and that we should all be looking forward to it!  I am so EXCITED to this movie!  Big thanks and love to Meghan, we wish her the best!  Hopefully she'll come back and visit us soon!

Reggie Austin...

Reggie Austin stopped by the Artists on Demand virtual studio tonight... All I have to do is invent the magical car, hmmmm where to start???... We here at Artists on Demand are all HUGE fans of Reggie and we hope his character Jamie on Life Unexpected gets more air time (we want more Reggie!!).  If you missed tonight show, you are definitely missing out.  Head over to OUR PODCAST AND DOWNLOAD!

Jesse James...

Jesse James... He was super sweet and had some really imaginative answers to our fun questions.  According to Jesse his jelly bean flavor would either be a sensor overload of different flavors OR Mars Chicken and Cake flavor.  We also got the skinny on a few new indy flics he has coming out, one is a movie called Bones (not the TV show, I found that out the hard way :)),  keep checking back when I find when and where you can see these films I will let you know!  I hope Jesse comes back soon, he was really fun to chat with!
