Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR

The Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR festival hit Tampa, Florida on Sunday, September 5th and I, Kristin, was there to witness the action. The shows started just before four o'clock with some new bands on the horizon as well as some known and up and coming bands. HellYeah, Airbournce, Hail the Villain, and New Medicine. I was lucky enough to meet New Medicine and they are amazing. Nice guys, down to earth, friendly, and appreciative to every fan. I liked them so much I bought their album. I must say... it is definitely not a waste of money! They have a new album dropping September 28th, so make sure to pick it up on their website www.newmedicinerock.com.

In between rocking out to the early concerts, there was plenty of stuff you could do. Most of the bands had booths set up where you could go buy merchandise, and in some situations, meet the band and get autographs. There was also a large tent to promote Musical Instruments, which is a new section in select Best Buys where you can buy quality musical instruments. And of course... Rockstar had a tent. A very nice tent in the heat. Free drinks available throughout the entire afternoon and into the early evening. Excellent idea.

Make sure to check out all the bands from the afternoon shows...

Then the evening rotated to the main stage, which was the 1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheater. First up... Halestorm. And might I just say... they blew me away. Lead singer, Lzzy Hale, has vocals to knock anyone out of their seat! There 30 minute set consisted of mostly screaming, singing, and lots of banging on the drums, but they did take a moment to slow it down to sing "Familiar Taste of Poison". Excellent performance if I do say so. Check them out at http://www.halestormrocks.com/

Next up was the one and only Stone Sour. Corey Taylor, lead singer, along with James Root, Shawn Economaki, Roy Mayorga killed it as they interacted with the crowd, got them on their feet, and even made time to sing their #1 smash hit, "Through the Glass". Fantastic performance! Check them out at http://www.stonesour.com/

And then it was time for the two main acts. Avenged Sevenfold and Disturbed. Starting out was Avenged Sevenfold, who revealed a set very similar to that of their website. Big dark castle, stone pillars shooting flames, and of course, the most amazing music in the world. They make amazing music and put on one hell of a show! Finishing up the evening was Disturbed and I have to say... David Draimen was looking hot! He sang songs from the new album "Asylum" which dropped August 31st, as well as some old favorites like "Down with the Sickness". He even wrapped up the show by asking who had not bought the album, and then the final sentence... "Go buy it so we can knock Katy Fucking Perry off the top of the damn charts!" Gotta love that man! If you missed it, make sure to get your tickets by visiting the Rockstar UPROAR website now and check out Avenged Sevenfold and Disturbed at their websites!
