James Cameron is showing his true colors today as he lashes out of the makers of Piranha 3D! The acclaimed director of 'Avatar', another 3D movie that I did not enjoy, has this to say about the latest 3D horror flick...
"cheapens the medium and reminds you of the bad 3D horror films from the 70s and 80s." OUCH! Tell them how you REALLY feel Cameron. And as if that wasn't enough to make them angry, he then added this little tidbit...
"When movies got to the bottom of the barrel of their creativity and at the last gasp of their financial lifespan, they did a 3D version to get the last few drops of blood out of the turnip. And that's not what's happening now with 3D." Now I have to admit that I haven't seen the other Piranha movies (I don't do scary), nor have I seen this latest horror movie. But correct me if i'm wrong... People in the entertainment industry should support other people in the entertainment industry, not run off their mouths about projects they got fired from... Yeah I should have mentioned that earlier... James Cameron was fired from this latest movie.
I am really happy with the statement made by Mark Canton, the producer, when asked what he thought about Cameron's comments...
"It is amazing that in the moviemaking process, which is certainly a team sport, that Cameron consistently celebrates himself out (sic) as though he is a team of one. His comments are ridiculous, self-serving and insulting to those of us who are not caught up in serving his ego and his rhetoric." Well said!
