The CW premiered the hit new show Hellcats on Wednesday at 9 pm EST this past week and no matter what the critics say... this show is pretty good. The story is based around Marti, a girl going to law school on scholarship when suddenly her scholarship is taken away. The only way to stay in class is to get another scholarship. Just as she is getting ready to give up, she see's a poster for Cheerleading tryouts and overhears the head cheerleader, Savannah, played by Ashley Tisdale, saying they have a full scholarship.
After going out for the team and making it, Marti must put aside the fact that cheer-leading isn't exactly what she wants to do, and put her heart and soul into it. It turns out she is a bigger asset than they thought. She has choreography skills and some wicked tumbling skills. Marti has already gained an enemy on the team. Injured flier, Alice, played by Heather Hemmens, is bound to heal her injured arm and get back into her position. She even goes to the extent of taking Marti's clothes while she is in the shower, causing Marty to get stuck in a stall hiding from the boys on the team, including prior One Tree Hill Star, Robbie Jones, who plays Lewis. He saves the day by conveniently dropping his towel by the stall door and distracting the other cheer boys by asking if his... manhood... is crooked, causing them to flee and her to be able to grab the towel and cover up.
By the end of the episode, we hear that Lewis has a crush on Marti. Savannah thinks Marti's best friend, Dan, played by another ex-One Tree Hill Star, Matt Barr, is a hottie. We shall see what this series has to offer, but so far it looks as though it is going to fit in very nicely with the CW lineup! Check back Ra-ra-right here every week for you Hellcats Recap!
