Last season of Gossip Girl left us with our jaws on the floor as Chuck was left in an alley fighting for his life after being mugged and shot. We were also left wondering if the baby Georgina was carrying was Dan's. Nate shocked us all when he dumped Serena, and then went on to go through Chuck's little black book. Blair and Serena left for Paris after Blair found out that Chuck slept with Jenny; and Nate broke up with Serena for her kiss with Dan.
When we return to the Upper East Side, we discover that Nate has made his way through Chuck's little black book. He definitely didn't sit and wait around for Serena, that's for sure. Serena gets a package in the mail while in Paris with Blair, and we are all under the impression that it is the course catalog for Brown; only to discover that it is her acceptance letter into Columbia. We are then introduced to Milo, Dan and Georgina's son when, when Vanessa comes to see where Dan had been hiding.
While on a date with one of his many conquests, Nate gets ditched and starts talk to the mysterious Juliet. While at a museum, Blair is approached by Louis, who she believes is a Grimaldi... as in the royal family of Monaco. She gets a text from Louis saying that he has a friend, and she tells Serena that she has to come. It turns out that Louis is just the driver for the Prince, and Blair doesn't do anything to hide the fact that this is not OK with her.
Back in New York, Georgina is back to her old tricks again when she shows up at a party at Rufus and Lily's with baby Milo in tow. Dan rushes over to try to put out the flames, because he hasn't told ANYONE about Milo. We know that Georgina is up to something, because she was speaking Russian on the phone to some guy saying that she needed one more day. Because Rufus is such an awesome dad, and the fact that he knows Georgina, he demands that there be a paternity test. G claims that she has already had one done, and when Dan calls the Dr that performed it, it is confirmed that he is the father. Rufus doesn't buy it and demands that another test be done.
Back in Paris, Blair finds out that Serena got into Columbia, and she is not happy. She walks out of the restaurant and Serena soon follows, only to have Blair push her into the fountain outside becasue she is sick of following in her shadow. When Serena comes in to get her stuff, she asks the Prince to walk her home; Blair stays behind and says that she is ready to leave as well, only to discover that Louis was in fact the Prince all along. Blair's snobbish ways have left her alone in one of the most romantic cities in the world. It later comes out that Blair is afraid that she will always feel broken, and will never get over Chuck.
Speaking of Chuck, he has been missing in action since he checked into his hotel in Prague back in May. Lily has become worried and decided to enlist Nate's help in trying to locate Chuck. We then see what happened after he was left for dead in the alley. A young woman rescues him, and nurses him back to health. When Chuck finally awakes, he lies and says that his name is Henry Prince. It appears as though he is trying to start over, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to do that. The episode ends with Chuck arriving in Paris with his mystery woman amid discussions of moving into her cousin's place and working for her uncle.
We can only wait and see what this season of Gossip Girl has to offer. I know I can't wait!
