After all the commotion, it was down to the final session of getting our photos from earlier and getting autographs. I decided to get a TVD shirt signed by everyone and my 'Team Damon' shirt signed by Ian (which Paul wanted to draw a big cross through). We needed to hurry to ensure we could get ready for the cocktail party that was included in our ticket, as well as the VIP ticket holders. After fussing about in the hotel room we made our way down to the hotel bar to a very intimate corner and waited. A few champers/cocktails later, the actors showed up and immediately started mingling with the crowd, which after 2 very big days was totally appreciated by all in attendance. Ian kept saying to me 'it's because of you' (in regards to the winning bid on his shirt) and giving me another kiss whenever he walked past (security asked me if I was ever going to wash my face again!!) We discussed Europe, vampire movies, Tim Burton and AFL with Paul; 'dubstep', makeup (to touch up tired eyes) and werewolf lenses with Mike; amateur theatre, hats, Mike talking s*it, and the reef with Ian; and Nina just kind of floated around chatting with everyone. Nina and Paul left first, around 11pm and Ian and Mike were dragged out around 1145pm and the we all dragged ourselves off to bed!
It was an EPIC day…one that I will not be forgetting soon. A big thankyou to all of the staff and volunteers at The Hub and to the actors for making the time to come all this way to spend a bit of time with their fans and see some of Australia. We truly appreciate it.
