Breaking news on Breaking Dawn...

With all the Twilight Buzz flying around lately about New Moon on DVD this Friday and the Eclipse Trailer Premiering last week, it would only make sense that Breaking Dawn would also be on peoples minds.  Rumor around Hollywood is Summit might be shopping for a Director or Directors (*fingers crossed for two movies*) for Breaking Dawn.  Apparently, in the running for this top spot is Sophia Coppola, Gus Van Sant and Bill Condon.  Let me break it down for you...

Sophia Coppola - Sophia directed such films as "The Virgin Suicides", "Marie Antoinette" & "Lost in Translation" to which she won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 2003. Sophia seems to keep out of big Hollywood pictures, keeping to the more indie flics.  However, her dad Francis Ford was the director responsible for the remake of "Dracula" in 1992.

Gus Van Sant - Gus is best known for films like "Milk", "Good Will Hunting" & "Finding Forrester" along with a menagerie of other low budget indie films.  This might be a good pic, he seems to be good with bigger movies and still keeps them with the indie feel.

Bill Condon - Bill is a relatively new director to the scene.  He is, however, best known for his smash movie "Dreamgirls".  We might be pleasantly surprised with this choice, it seems Bill has done quite a few darker movies. "Gods and Monsters" and "Candyman II: Farewell to the Flesh" to name a few.  If we are looking for a director to take Part One of the hopeful Two Part series to a darker place, Bill might be a good choice.

Well, with Eclipse out soon I can only imagine that Breaking Dawn Part One pre-production should start anytime now. We're waiting...
